Dry Comal Creek Grape Stomp

My friend Kellye and I headed out to New Braunfels last Sunday for the Dry Comal Creek Vineyards and Winery’s annual grape stomp. What a great day! First, Sabrina and her staff give new meaning to the word, “hospitality.” She graciously gave us a tour of the facility, let us taste a little wine, and overall made us feel like guests in her “home.” From the looks on others’ faces, it seemed like they all felt the same way. Between the photo ops, Andrew gave us a wonderful mini-lesson on the nuances of various wines (and a little chocolate for good measure.)

If you’re ever in the area don’t miss this jewel (heck, it’s even worth making the drive for the experience itself.) Many, many thanks to Sabrina and her crew for letting us be part of such an amazing day!

Wine coozies: brilliant!

Best! Hat! Ever!

Gettin’ hitched anytime soon? Missy (L) coordinates all the weddings out here and she’s awesome.

These are shirts from previous years (the grape stomp gets a lot of return visitors!)

The before photo: one person stomps, the other one fills the jugs with juice and uses the scrubber to keep the hose unclogged!

Ready…set…

GO!

Five month-old Megan got in on the action with her mother!

Sabrina had a really great band playing during the event. Made it so much more fun!

Everyone who participated got the commemorative t-shirt (with their own personalized footprints.)

Andrew rocks!

And here’s how the magic happens…
